Genny & Shayne

Shayne grew up in Utah and moved to Southern California for the solar industry after going to school for energy management. This is where he met Genny, who grew up in San Diego and was working in the Interior Design industry. The two felt led to make a big change in lifestyle, but not initially having a clear idea of what that change might look like. They took their chances that the world would lead them and sold everything and traveled in an RV for a little less than a year, getting a feel for other western states they might like to call home. During this time they became enamored with the idea of wide open spaces, beautiful landscapes, four seasons, and developed the desire for self sustainability. They decided to move to Utah in the tiny mountainous town of Rush Valley, right next to Shayne’s home town of Tooele. As the beginning of most small farms go, they started with a few chickens and goats. Their love and joy of caring for animals quickly turned into rescuing them. The rescue now consists of chickens, goats, alpacas, and horses. And the story is still being written… so please join us on that journey.
